Game Rules

Be the first player to hold your wedding...

To win, collect the required number of wedding items and guests.

There are two types of cards: guests and items.

Guests give you money and Items cost money.

Some Guests have abilities that can be played once.

Some Items have powers that you can use every turn.

  1. Shuffle the deck of cards and place it face-down in the middle of the table. This is the draw pile.
  2. Give new players an "Order of Service" card so that they know how to take a turn. (Note that there are only two Order of Service cards.)
  3. Deal seven cards to each player. Players start without any money.
  1. Draw two cards (or five cards if you start the turn holding none).
  2. Lay down up to two Guests from your hand and take the gift amount on the card(s) from the bank.
  3. Lay down up to one Item (or Unique item) card from your hand lif you can afford it) and pay money into the bank. Each item has a number which indicates how much it costs.
  4. Choose whether to play abilities or powers. These can be played on any turn and don't need to be played the same turn the card is laid down. Note: abilities and powers can only be played from cards that are laid down on the table and not in your hand.
  5. Discard Quests as soon as their ability has been played. Note that if you play a Unique Item power, then you do not discard the Unique Item.

Who will be the first player to have their wedding? A player wins when they have a certain number of guest and item cards in front of them (cards in your hand do not count). The number of each required depends on the number of players:

  • 2 players: 20 guests, 8 items (all different)
  • 3 players: 17 guests, 7 items (all different)
  • 4 players: 14 guests, 6 items (all different)
  • 5 players: 11 guests, 5 items (all different)
  • 6 players: 8 guests, 4 items (all different)

Note: each type of Item, e.g. Venue, has three variations of the same card. These variations don't count as 'different?. For example, if a player had three Cakes and two Oresses, then that player only has two different Items (not five).
